FOREWORD
Maybe you've seen their emblems on their rear
windows, license plates, or on a casket in a funeral - and
wondered what they stood for. Maybe you've been to the Shrine
Circus. Maybe you have conversed with a person who informs you
he is a Mason. Perhaps you have always wondered about the group
called - Freemasons. You may even be related to someone
who is a Mason and desire to know more about this secret
fraternal organization.
As a pastor you always are on the lookout for
false teachings in our churches and society. Many are not aware
of it, but Freemasonry is a false religion. Most have no
idea of the beliefs and practices of this cult movement.
I am so pleased to recommend this book by
David and Donna Carrico. They give a clarion call to all of
God's people to come out from among them and be separate as
God's Word declares. My eyes have been opened through their
ministry and this book and I know your's will be also.
We are in a day and time when even pastors
are failing to take a stand against false teachings. There
is nowhere that this is more blatant than with the issue of the
Masons verses Christianity.
In II Corinthians 6:14-18, God's Word tells us
not to be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. It asks the
question - what communion has light with darkness? And
God's Word answers - come out from among them and be ye
separate, saith the Lord!
There is no doubt that if a person is
completely committed to God they cannot be involved in false
religions. There is also no doubt that the Masonic Lodge is a
false religion.
The Carricos have lovingly and candidly
exposed the teachings and rituals of the Masonic movement. As
you begin to read these informative pages you will immediately recognize
Freemasonry for something that cannot co-habitate with
Christianity. There is no shred of bitterness or hatred
found within this book, only a hatred of sin and a desire to
rescue God's people from the clutches of Satan.
I am convinced that God will use this ministry
tool greatly in the coming years and I commend the FOLLOWERS
OF JESUS CHRIST Ministry for taking a stand in a time when
many will not. I also commend you for obtaining this book.
But I must, along with the commendation, offer a challenge.
If you are a Mason, please be honest with
yourself and with God that Freemasonry and Christianity
cannot go together and that you must decide today whom you will
serve - a man cannot have two masters.
If you are a pastor, then I challenge you to
utilize this tool to call others away from the Masonic false
religion and to take a stand for our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ.
From exposing Masonic secrecy and deception to
oaths and Satanic connections - CHRISTIAN WORKER'S HANDBOOK -
THE GUIDE FOR MINISTRY TO MASONS - is an answer to prayer
for those who want to minister to those who have been deceived
by the Masonic Lodge.
This is a ministry tool I am sure to utilize
many times in the future and I encourage you to keep this book
always ready to be consulted, because we are in a battle against
Satan and false religions.

INTRODUCTION
The position of our ministry is that some
Freemasons are Christians because Freemasonry is truly a
system that deceives good men. It is also our ministry's
position that you cannot be an informed Freemason and a
committed Christian at the same time.
We believe that any man who is truly 'born
again' would not want to retain his membership and support an
organization that promotes the things that Freemasonry is
involved in. (see Appendix on: How to lead a Mason to Christ)
We love the Freemasons but hate Freemasonry
because it is an evil system that is opposed to the true gospel
of Jesus Christ. This guide is to serve as a tool to prepare
Christian workers to minister to Masons and is also designed to
inform the Mason what Masonry really teaches. This guide will
present quotes by Freemasons and other occult sources regarding
Freemasonry, and these quotes will disclose the true doctrine
and agenda of the Lodge. We will then provide Scriptures from
the Bible that will expose and refute the error of Freemasonry.
We feel the scriptures and quotes speak for themselves,
therefore, we will offer very little commentary. Freemasonry is
a very complex and deceptive religion, however, this guide will
provide the Christian worker with the basic information and
Scriptures that he or she needs to begin a Ministry to Masons.
With the help of this guide, you will understand the reasons
WHY A CHRISTIAN CAN'T BE A FREEMASON AFTER HE KNOWS THE TRUTH
ABOUT THE LODGE.
1. MASONIC SECRECY
In Freemasonry a man does things
behind closed doors that he cannot share with his wife and fellow
church members. If this is all you know
about Freemasonry it should be enough to show you that Christians
should have no part of it. All Freemasons are in the occult as the
following book, published by the Macoy Masonic Publishing Company,
readily admits.
From The Royal Arch Its
Hidden Meaning, by George H. Steinmetz:
Many Freemasons shudder at the
word "occult" which comes from the Latin meaning
"to cover, to conceal from public scrutiny and the
profane." But, anyone studying Freemasonry cannot avoid
classifying Freemasonry among "occult" teachings.1
From The Great Teachings of
Masonry, by H.L. Haywood:
Also, Masonic secrecy exists
for certain definite purposes. The Fraternity itself exists in
order to keep fixed on a man a certain set of influences, and in
order to bring about certain changes in the world, etc.: its
secrecy is a means to that end, and helps to make such a purpose
possible. If a lodge room were as open to the general public as
a street corner all that goes specifically by the name of
Masonry would necessarily vanish and the very purpose for which
the Order exists would be defeated.2
Jesus says:
(John 3:19-21 KJV) And this is
the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men
loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
{20} For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither
cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. {21} But
he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be
made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
(John 18:20 KJV) Jesus
answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the
synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort;
and in secret have I said nothing.
(Luke 12:2-3 KJV) For there is
nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that
shall not be known. {3} Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in
darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have
spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the
housetops.
(Luke 8:17 KJV) For nothing is
secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid,
that shall not be known and come abroad.
2. MASONIC DECEPTION
Freemasonry deceives good men
about its real doctrine and purpose.
Please read the following quotes from their own Masonic books.
From Morals and Dogma, by
Albert Pike:
The Blue Degrees are but the
outer court or portico of the Temple. Part of the symbols are
displayed there to the Initiate, but he is intentionally misled by
false interpretations. It is not intended that he shall understand
them; but it is intended that he shall imagine he understands
them. Their true explication is reserved for the Adepts, the
Princes of Masonry.3
From The Meaning of Masonry,
by Lynn F. Perkins:
It should be carefully noted
that the purpose of the Ritual is just as much to conceal as to
reveal the secret science that lies behind and within the
outward and literal forms and symbols. The true wisdom is
concealed, hidden, not only from those who do not join the
Masonic Order but also from those who "take" the
degrees; and it will remain "hidden" until each Mason
seeks revelation and finds the Truth for himself.4
From Morals and Dogma,
by Albert Pike:
Masonry, like all the
Religions, all the Mysteries, Hermeticism and Alchemy, conceals
its secrets from all except the Adepts and Sages, or the Elect,
and uses false explanations and misinterpretations of its
symbols to mislead those who deserve only to be misled; to
conceal the Truth, which it calls Light, from them, and to draw
them away from it...........So Masonry jealously conceals its
secrets, and intentionally leads conceited interpreters astray.5
From Morals and Dogma,
by Albert Pike:
The symbols and ceremonies of
Masonry have more than one meaning. They rather conceal
than disclose the Truth. They hint it only, at
least; and their varied meanings are only to be discovered by
reflection and study.6
From Ancient Mystic
Oriental Masonry, Dr. R. Swinburne Clymer:
It is in the ancient symbols
of Freemasonry that its real secrets lie concealed, and these
are as densely veiled to the Mason as to any other, unless he
has studied the science of symbolism in general, and Masonic
symbols in particular. 7
The word of God says:
(Proverbs 12:20 KJV) Deceit is
in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors
of peace is joy.
(Romans 12:17 KJV) Recompense
to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of
all men.
(Jeremiah 9:5-6 KJV) And they
will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the
truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary
themselves to commit iniquity. {6} Thine habitation is in the
midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith
the LORD.
(Psalms 101:7 KJV) He that
worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth
lies shall not tarry in my sight.
(Proverbs 14:5 KJV) A faithful
witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
(Leviticus 19:11 KJV) Ye shall
not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
3. DENYING THE LIGHT
Some Freemasons deny they have
done anything wrong, yet they have to deny their own faith and
‘the light of the world’, Jesus Christ from the very
beginning to be accepted into the lodge. In the very First Degree
of Freemasonry, the Entered Apprentice Degree, the candidate is
declared by the Conductor that he is in darkness and he must make
a confession that he wants to come to ‘light’ that is found in
the Lodge.
From Duncan’s Ritual of
Freemasonry, by Malcolm C. Duncan:
..who has long been in darkness,
and now seeks to be brought to light, and to receive a part in the
rights and benefits of this Worshipful Lodge, erected to God, and
dedicated to the holy St. John, as all brothers and fellows have
done before.............. Why leave you the west and travel toward
the east?..[candidate answers] In search of light.8
The words above are part of the
ritual that a candidate is subjected to in the First Degree of
Freemasonry and it contains a confession that no true follower of
Jesus Christ can make.
From The AHIMAN REZON or Book
of Constitutions of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of
South Carolina, Compiled and Arranged by the Authority of the
Grand Lodge, and Published Under its Sanction:
The Lodge is, then, at the time
of the reception of an Entered Apprentice, a symbol of the world,
and the initiation is a type of the new life upon which the
candidate is about to enter. There he stands without our portals,
on the threshold of this new Masonic life, in darkness,
helplessness, and ignorance. Having been wandering amid the errors
and covered over with the polutions of the outer and profane
world, he comes inquiringly to our doors, seeking the new birth,
and asking a withdrawal of the veil which conceals divine truth
from his uninitiated sight.9
This is what the word of God
says:
(John 8:12 KJV) Then spake
Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he
that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the
light of life.
(1 John 1:5-7 KJV) This then
is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you,
that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. {6} If we
say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we
lie, and do not the truth: {7} But if we walk in the light, as
he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the
blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
(John 12:46 KJV) I am come a light into the
world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in
darkness.
4. DECEIVED ABOUT OATHS
Freemasonry deceives the
candidates by telling them that the oath
they swear will not violate their duty to God or country. This is
done before the candidate takes the first oath in the First Degree
of Masonry. The truth is that the oath they swear is strictly
forbidden in the scriptures and will obligate them to give
preference to Masons over other honest citizens.
From Duncan’s Ritual,
by Malcolm C. Duncan:
...before you can be permitted
to advance any farther in Masonry, it becomes my duty to inform
you, that you must take upon yourself a solemn oath or
obligation, appertaining to this degree, which I, as Master of
this Lodge, assure you will not materially interfere with the
duty that you owe to your God, yourself, family, country, or
neighbor. Are you willing to take such an oath?10
From The Genius of
Freemasonry, by J. D. Buck:
A Mason may discriminate in
favor of a Brother Mason. Other things equal, he may give him the
preference as he would a brother by the ties of kinship and of
blood.11
The word of God warns us how we
should treat others.
(Ephesians 4:25 KJV) Wherefore
putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for
we are members one of another.
(Psalms 24:3-5 KJV) Who shall
ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy
place? {4} He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath
not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. {5} He
shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from
the God of his salvation.
(1 Timothy 5:20-21 KJV) Them
that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. {21} I
charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect
angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one
before another, doing nothing by partiality.
5. MASONIC OATHS
Freemasonry first deceives men
and then compels men to swear death oaths in their Rituals that
are in direct violation of the Word of
God.
The oath of the First Degree of
Freemasonry, The Entered Apprentice Degree, is as follows: From
the Masonic source, Duncan’s Ritual of Freemasonry, by
Malcolm C. Duncan:
All this I most solemnly,
sincerely promise and swear, with a firm and steadfast resolution
to perform the same, without any mental reservation or secret
evasion of mind whatever, binding myself under no less penalty
than that of having my throat cut across, my tongue torn out by
its roots, and my body buried in the rough sands of the sea, at
low-water mark, where the tide ebbs and flows twice in twenty-four
hours, should I ever knowingly violate this my Entered Apprentice
obligation. So help me God, and keep me steadfast in the due
performance of the same.12
The oath of the Second Degree of
Freemasonry, The Fellow Craft Degree, again from Duncan’s
Ritual, is as follows :
All this I most solemnly promise
and swear with a firm and steadfast resolution to perform the
same, without any hesitation, mental reservation, or self-evasion
of mind whatever, binding myself under no less penalty than of
having my breast torn open my heart plucked out, and placed on the
highest pinnacle of the temple (some say, "My heart and
vitals taken from thence, and thrown over my left shoulder, and
carried into the valley of Jehoshaphat, &c., &c.), there
to be devoured by the vultures of the air, should I ever knowingly
violate the Fellow Craft obligation. So help me God, and keep me
steadfast in the due performance of the same.13
The oath of the Third Degree of
Freemasonry, The Master Mason Degree, again from Duncan’s
Ritual, says:
"Further, that I will
keep a worthy brother Master Mason’s secrets inviolable, when
communicated to and received by me as such, murder and treason
excepted.....
"All this I most
solemnly, sincerely promise and swear, with a firm an steady
resolution to perform the same, without any hesitation, mental
reservation, or secret evasion of mind whatever, binding myself,
under no less penalty than that of having my body severed in
two, my bowels taken from thence and burned to ashes, the ashes
scattered before the four winds of heaven, that no more
remembrance might be had of so vile and wicked a wretch as I
would be, should I ever, knowingly, violate this my Master Mason’s
obligation. So help me God, and keep me steadfast in the due
performance of the same."14
The word of God plainly tells us
not to swear.
(Matthew 5:34-37 KJV) But I say
unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s
throne: {35} Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by
Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. {36} Neither
shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair
white or black. {37} But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay,
nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
(James 5:12 KJV) But above all
things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the
earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and
your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.
The Lodge cannot hold good men
in bondage by these horrible oaths. The men who took these oaths
were deceived into thinking it would not violate their duty to God
or their country, etc. Even in the old Testament there was
forgiveness and release from rash vows.
The word of God says:
(Leviticus 5:4-6 KJV) Or if a
soul swear, pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good,
whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it
be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in
one of these. {5} And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one
of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that
thing: {6} And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD
for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb
or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall
make an atonement for him concerning his sin.
How much more will the blood of
Jesus Christ set men free from these demonic Masonic oaths.
(1 John 1:9 KJV) If we confess
our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(Luke 4:18-19 KJV) The Spirit of
the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the
gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the
blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, {19} To preach the
acceptable year of the Lord.
It has been reported to us that the Grand Lodge
of Pennsylvania is now reading the oaths to the candidates and
having the candidates agree to them. When those candidates are
asked by a Christian worker if they took the oaths, they will deny
actually taking the oath because it was read to them and only
affirmed instead of actually saying all the words. Even if that is
the case, they are still in direct contradiction of God’s word
because they have agreed to the oath. This is just another example
of Masonic deception. The oaths that are taken in the different
lodges might vary slightly in wording and if the wording is not
quite the same when you are confronting a Freemason, he will also
deny having taken the oaths. This is just another way to lie and
deny the acceptance of the oaths. The oaths that are taken in the
other Grand Lodges will be very similar to the ones found in
Duncan’s Ritual and Lester’s Look to the East. We were also
recently informed that as of 1986 the oaths in the first three
degrees and Master Elect have been removed from the English
Constitution of Freemasonry. American Freemasonry still remains
relatively the same, however.
